Tips for using Chick-fil-A One

January 6, 2017

Lunchtime has been more enjoyable with the addition of a Chick-fil-A in our town. A great perk they offer is the new app called Chick-fil-A One. Here are some tips on how to use the app to maximize your savings.

Before I begin, let me say that there are a variety of ways you can save at Chick-fil-A. If your local school offers a discount card through a fundraiser, I encourage you to support them. You'll make your money back very quickly in most cases. Since Chick-fil-A is involved in community, it's likely that a discount is available in your area. Now, back to the app.

There are several features of the Chick-fil-A One app worth mentioning:

-->You can add funds using your debit card to expedite ordering.
-->You can order ahead, and pick up either inside or at your car.
-->You accumulate credit toward freebies!

Here are the three main tips I have discovered when using Chick-fil-A One.
  1. Gift cards and the app are not compatible with each other. You can choose either a gift card or the app to pay for your meal, however you cannot use both at the same time. They may update the functionality eventually, and if they do, I'll update the info here.
  2. If you have not registered your calendar card online, you have to use your physical calendar card prior to using the app to pay for your meal.
  3. Add funds to the app prior to using a coupon from the app. You will not be able to add funds afterwards, and will need to pay using another method. This means you will not receive credit toward freebies through the app.

I learned all three of these tips through trial and error. All three situations have happened to me. I hope that this information will help you save time and money when using Chick-fil-A One.
