This week, my daughter used a hot glue gun for the first time. She has seen me use one before, but I always told her to stay away because I didn't want her to get burned. Since she turned eight recently, I decided to allow her to use my glue gun for a craft project.
To prevent injury, she put on some gray, knit gloves. These protected her hands from burns, and enabled her to complete her project successfully. We call these her "glue gloves" and will keep them in the same container as the glue guns and refill sticks. By storing it all together, it will remind her to put them on before beginning a new craft project.
