Homeschool Record Keeping Made Easy

Families who homeschool their children are always looking for programs and curriculum to meet their needs. To meet the requirements of each state, correct record keeping is essential, as well as a backup system for record keeping.

A great way to keep track of grades, assignments, field trips, and more is through a detailed software package. There are several programs out there, however many of them complicate the issue of record keeping by requiring too much input from the user to make it work, or have added "bells and whistles" that are not necessary to homeschooling. I have decided that I want a program to track our information as simply as possible, without a program telling me what household chores await me or what to cook for dinner when school is over. Our family is not that scheduled.

For the last two years, I have been using Homeschool Tracker. There are two versions -- HST Online and HST Plus. The online version uses the Cloud to store your data. It is always updated, and you don't have to worry about your computer crashing (which has happened to me recently) and losing your data. The plus version is a traditional software program you load on your computer. Some people prefer this version over the online version because of not feeling comfortable with Cloud technology. Whatever version you choose, it is well worth the nominal annual investment. Have a large family? No problem, because Homeschool Tracker stores up to 10 students.

If you are ready to try Homeschool Tracker, you may click on the HST Online image above, or click here. One of my goals on Practips is to help families by providing practical tips, including ways to save time and money. I hope that you will consider Homeschool Tracker to meet your homeschooling reporting needs.
