Reminders for Home Maintenance

September 20, 2012

Lowe's has a new reminder program in which you will be notified when it's time to purchase new maintenance items for your home. For example, you can set up reminders for your home's air filters or smoke detector batteries. The reminder program requires use of your MyLowe's card. If you don't have one yet, or you have one but haven't registered it yet, click on the MyLowe's card to get started.
If you have already registered your card online, you are ready to set reminders. Log in on Lowes.com and be sure to set your store location. Then, begin shopping for the maintenance parts you need on a regular basis -- air filters, batteries, refrigerator filters, dryer vent tubing, etc. On each item screen, there is now a button called "Set a Reminder" located under the "Save Item" button. Click on "Set a Reminder" and you can customize it. The choices are indicated in yellow boxes. Here's an example:

You will receive email notifications on the dates you have chosen regarding the maintenance parts you selected from the website. Before placing orders, be sure to verify that your part is the correct size (i.e. air filters) AND that you choose to pick up at your local store. Picking up your parts at your local store will save you shipping costs.

Here's another tip: Choosing multi-packs of maintenance parts will save you some money. In the reminder example above, one air filter is priced at $3.98 while 3-pack air filters are $7.98. It's like getting one free because you've ordered the multi-pack. Sometimes Filtrete (made by 3M) will offer coupons. Click here to see what coupons are active right now.

Helping you make home maintenance easier -- saves both time and money!

Thanks for following Practips!
