Keep Chipping Under Control

June 26, 2012

Have you ever opened your dishwasher after a cycle to discover that you have chipped glasses or mugs? Bacteria can build up on exposed porous material such as ceramic or porcelain. Glass can be broken due to bumping and rattling. This means extra cost for replacement. Broken pieces floating around during the wash can damage not only other dishes, but the dishwasher itself.

The method you use to place your dishes in the dishwasher will determine how long they will last. Here is a great and simple tip to making your dishes last longer. Alternate breakable with non-breakable when placing dishes in the racks of your dishwasher. In the picture shown here, you see that the plastic cups are in between the breakable cups providing a "cushion" so they don't bump into one another.

Using this tip will keep your dishes, dishwasher, and wallet in great shape!

Thanks for following Practips!
