Quick Tip: Automatic Soap Dispenser

January 24, 2012

Have you purchased an automatic soap dispenser, or considered purchasing one, and wonder how you can save money on the refills?

You can use any liquid soap to refill your dispenser instead of purchasing the brand name refill bottles. Purchase a large bottle of soap for the same or less money. When your dispenser bottle runs out, turn off the dispenser, remove the bottle, and use a flat head screwdriver to pop off the cap. Fill the bottle with your favorite scent, and replace the cap. Then, insert the bottle back in the dispenser until you hear it click into place.

Two things to remember when refilling your dispenser: 1.) Hot rinse the cap before replacing it so it is free of clogs; and, 2.) Prime the pump a couple of times so the soap can reload in the dispenser. Wait until the light on the front stops flashing, then hold your hand under it a couple of times. Then, it should be ready to use!

Here's an additional tip for your automatic soap dispenser. Use rechargeable batteries to reduce your cost of buying them. Consider a charging unit that accommodates a variety of sizes for practicality.

A soap dispenser is a great way to save money because it only lets out a small amount of soap at a time. Using these tips will save you money when it's refill time.
